Barrhead South and Levern Church

“Let no one be a stranger within these walls”

This Church of Scotland is located in Barrhead Main Street, a short distance west of the shopping centre and the junction with Arthurlie Street.

Minister:

Rev Morris M Dutch, BD

Sunday Services

Morning Worship

This is held at 11 am. A crêche is normally available in the Irvine Room at the rear of the church.

In July and early August, united church services are held in Barrhead.
Details are published in the local press.

Sunday at Seven

There is a programme of evening services with varied format at 7 pm during October to May, usually lasting about half an hour. Some of these are led by elders or church organisations.

In his preaching, the minister seeks to interpret the message of the Bible in the light of the problems and issues facing individuals, families, the church and the world.

In our singing we try to draw on the best of traditional and modern hymns and worship songs, accompanied sensitively on pipe organ and piano by our organist, David Hunter.

A Message from the Minister

Christian people, motivated by love, still can “turn the world upside down”, and what helps us to do that is just being there Sunday by Sunday to hear again the message of love that inspires our love. So whether it is in the Junior Church or in adult worship Sunday morning or evening or in entering into an Alpha course or house group, let’s remember what it says in Hebrews 10:25

“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.”

South and Levern Church would like to be a light in the community: a church congregation which serves the people of Barrhead and inspires them to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Visitors are welcome at all our services, and there is also an opportunity to meet with us for a cup of tea or coffee in the Hall after the morning service.
